Morning Shower

Entering the cold steel box feeling lethargic, limp, and lifeless,
her hand turns the knob and tepid water pulsates, awakening senses.
Soothing heat starts to reach and relax tight, strained muscles
as she turns towards the source of that which is lowering her defenses.
Face straight into the beating rain, letting go of all pretenses,
she starts to pray.

Feeling the miraculous healing powers of being washed clean,
glorious cleansing of sins, calming soul and frenzied mind;
her restoring spirit rapidly releases the worries of today.
Bathing in the glorious meditation and benediction, she unwinds
renewed and revived in the cold steel box-- body and soul now intertwined.
She begins a new day.
