Mamma, I hear you calling,
I can't come home today.
The men out here are counting on me,
I really have to stay.
I'll be home real soon,
just you wait and see.
I know you miss me,
I miss you to.
I have to stay out here,
what's a soldier to do.
We have to keep things safe,
for everyone and you.
I know it's hard,
being all alone,
waiting for the day,
that I do come home.
Mamma, I do hear you calling,
but I can't come home today.
But mamma,
I do have one thing to say.
I love you mamma,
I will be home someday.
