Twenty years after Troy’s funeral, Cory was living with his wife Maria and their 16 year old daughter Crystal. Cory was still a marine. He was 40 years old and was getting ready to retire from being a marine because he was getting older. His wife Maria was a bakery owner and made wedding cakes for other people. Crystal was a volleyball player, swimmer, and a long distance runner. Crystal was a junior in high school and was at the top of her class in everything she did.
Cory made sure his daughter would do her homework after her practices and helped her gain interests in her sports. He helped her with everything his daughter wanted to pursue, since he didn’t have that opportunity in his teenage life. His was used to be an Olympic gold medalist in track. When Maria was a track runner she was the fastest runner on her team. Maria would help Crystal with the running. Cory lived in a beautiful home on a beachfront in a small town far from where he grew up. They have lived there for 17 years. Maria owns a small bakery shop down the street from the house. Her daughter loves to come and help her with the cakes and other pastries they bake.
