Memories - Lay Low
Swept up by the past - left barely standing.

Sweet scents of yesteryear.
They've swept upon me now.
As if she stood before me... here.
My past returned... somehow.

My eyes light up, smile grows wide.
I know it can't be true.
Feels as though I was a child.
When last she said... we're through.

Searching round the house in vain.
I find no trace of her.
Fighting back the tears... and pain.
Till memories... fade and blur.
