THE MYSTERY OF IT ALL!

--an inquiry into why we kept the junk we kept
during our recent move--and continue to keep it!!

Mom said neatness was the name of the game;
so after moving, I report with shame
that after late unpacking of our mess,
we found unusual stuff causing stress!
We can't at all account for why we kept
all of this nonsence while we merely slept
on our sanity, and good judgment, too!
I know we kept the [dragon] as a pet;
companionship was counseled by the vet
as a way to mollify our six cats
instead of boldly locking them in vats
of tuna fish; they would have liked that more,
but there was not enough at the close store!
I've always dabbled in calligraphy;
I'm glad to find my [fountain pen] to see
if I am any good at it again!
If so, I'll make our Christmas cards. and then
we'll open my lost [recipe book], too;
and I'll concoct potent holiday goo!
We'll next all sit around with my [guitar]--
the C.D. carols sound better, by far!!
This festive holiday commotion will
drive away any homesickness and chill!
