NEW PROMPT DUE BEFORE NOON FRIDAY:
Write a STORY or POEM about going shopping on the day after Thanksgiving to buy that one special gift on sale for a special someone. Who is the gift for, what is it, and are you able to get it?

THAT PERFECT GIFT

I shopped from store to store today; I flat wore out my shoes!
When I asked you just what to get, you only offered clues
as to what could put a grin on that handsome face I love,
so armed with subtle hints. I shopped to find your wired gloves!
I looked hard for that perfect gift that you, my husband, crave!
I thought I'd find them on sale; you know I love to save!
I searched all the computer stores, and clothing stores, as well!
But I was told without remorse, "that product did not sell!"
Most geeks adore their complex toys and always want to know
new tricks and ways to make them run, but will not pay to go
around in wired gloves when there's a cheaper way to play!
And so I trudged from store to store; I shopped ON BLACK FRIDAY!!!
I fin'lly found your dad-burned gloves at the new hardware store--
and now that I have found your gift, you'd BEST NOT EXPECT MORE.
I now know why they gave the day that awful, tacky name--
fools chase around for bargains; there's no one else to blame!!
