Crystal Clarity

Don’t mind us,
We’re just limbless souls
Fighting to maintain some relevancy
As the decadent world simply passes us by

They’re all caught up in a minor moment
One that won’t last but a blink
Soon to be distracted by something or someone else
Never a mind for the sky

The blistering rocks will scald their forearms
The brightness of sanity will blind their eyes
Their ears will fill with the silence of nothing
Their lips will form a wordless why

As the temperature rises they’ll remember their prayers
The hands will fold and the knees will bend
They’ll capture sincerity in their crystal clarity
All the rest they’ll deny
