        Unforgiven

The paedophile looked up at the priest, struggling to force the words into the surrounding gloom, “I have done wicked things, Father,” he croaked, “will God still forgive me?”

“If you truly repent, Martin, all sins will be absolved.” The priest clutched his bible.

He nodded feebly, before his eyes rolled back into his skull. The priest made the sign of the cross. Darkness came.

Opening his eyes Martin gasped. Light flooded the bedroom and a soothing harp played unseen. He looked at his hands and saw youthful flesh, his pain replaced with euphoria. “My God . . .” He blinked again and the room was gone, a ray of light embracing him as he floated up towards the heavens.

An angel descended towards him with open arms, her beauty breathtaking. Suddenly, its white wings became black, its smile morphed into a terrible grin and horns sprouted from its growing head.

He screamed but his tongue fell to the earth below. Maggots riddled his melting flesh, exposing black bone beneath. Lightening smashed into the earth below as he fell, opening up a swirling pool of blood. Demonic talons ripped through his torso as it plunged into the eternal darkness.
