The darkness enveloped my spirit, withdrew its oppressive face, then showed me the light of day. I meditated, pondering the weight of fear verses faith. Did I have faith, had I ever really known fear before the darkness came? Fear not…Faith wins! But faith must move from step to step, elevate from level to level, transcending heights unknown to fear. Faith must move mountains to be true faith, it does so only to have its accomplishments succumb to darkness once more. Darkness, take your leave…I live by faith! I wrote this under inspiration from Derek Walcott’s “The Fist” The line that really reverberated with me was… “Hold hard then, heart. This way at least you live.”
