I Thought…
I thought for awhile my friend that you’d stay, But now I miss you, because you’ve gone away, I am so sorry to see you go, I love you my friend Sherry I hope you know, Please Dear God tell her for me and those she left behind, How life down here can be so unkind, How we love her and miss her too, And how her passing has left us sad and blue, I thought at least once more I’d see your face, Hear you laugh, see you smile, share a friendly embrace, But now all I have is our memories, We made some good ones, you and me, Dear God what if I’d just thought to pick up the phone, Would she still be here? Now I’ll never know, And now I’ll let my broken heart unwind, Hey Sherry, do you remember the time…? Love you
