drifting gently, thought to thought
on a river of emotion
paradise of mind we sought
with a lover's keen devotion

wand'ring through an ivory tower
inexplicably in state of bliss
every moment, every hour
yet still Elysium we miss

lost in forests of creation
labyrinths of hopes and fears
a fool's fickle fancy, imagination
brings us to the sweetest tears

fields of freedom we may find
beyond reason, beyond memory
casting shackles that do bind
us to a bleak reality

beyond these shores our journey ends
with faith our hearts reach for the sky
and heavenwards at last the soul ascends
on wings of dreams we fly
