Sunrise undressed the chilly air, And stripped away its evening gown Hanging it from the rising moon, Then reached with its golden fingers, And slipped warmth over the bare land. But with the touch that was too much The land warmed to accommodate The lingering and the tickling Showered upon it from above And radiated back with love. The tendrils of heat took and gave Spinning the air like golden hair And with a twirl the wind arrived Scooping the land into its arms And off they danced across the floor. In the stirring, the light went low As the dancers reached for the sky. The golden fingers reached in haste But the land had a new mate, And the fingers began to fade. With a cloud covering the land The dance slowly lost the-entice, And the cooled couple settled down. Shortly after the sun returned Diminished by the windy day.
