                                                 I brushed against the rose
                                                 So soft and cushiony;
                                                 And with it- scents of red,
                                                 Like flowering berries,
                                                 Their taste filling the air,
                                                 I felt the taste of it.
                                                 I swallowed the flavor
                                                 Of strawberry perfume.

                                                 I didn’t reach for it
                                                 But felt it all the same.
                                                 I didn’t reach for them
                                                 But yet—the feelings came.
