         THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
(Romans 6:23)

God places sin in three categories: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

To the born-again believer, God instructs:
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the
lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:
but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.
~1st John 2:15-17

and also:
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,
that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:
but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead
and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
~Romans 6:12-14
