Derek took a deep breath, they needed to keep moving, he had little doubt in my mind that those things would find a way either through, or around that doorway. He looked up at the pipes along the celing, they were clustered, thick, and it seemed like they went upward for quite some time. If they could find the control room, they'd be able to find a map, and a way out of here. Only problem was finding the control room, they could wander in this place for days and never find it. Hell, they might of passed it already running from the creatures. Derek was snapped into reality when his ears picked up a noise that stung his heart, crying.
Derek turned quickly and grabbed Brooke, pulling her into his arms and against his chest. She sobbed into his chest, her entire body jerking with each sob. He closed his eyes, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and the other around her waist, he hummed a soft tune gently in her ear as she sobbed. "Shhhh...Everything's going to work out, we'll get out of here." He whispered calmly. She continued to sob and looked up into his eyes. "What if we never find our way out? What if those things catch us?" She sobbed hystericlly, her eyes showing dread and terror. "We'll get through this, and I won't let those things harm you. We're going to go home, we're going to see the others again." Brooke's eyes went wide in shock, "The others! We can call them! They can help us!" Derek mentally kicked himself for not thinking of it sooner, "Yes, right, give them a call, call Zack and Micheal, tell them where we are and that we're in trouble." Derek's hope was restored as he pulled from Brooke so she could use her cell.
Derek walked over and grabbed the three fot length of pipe he had ripped off, it would come in handy if those creatures came back. Brooke pulled out her fire red cell and flipped it open, she scroll through her contacts to Zack's number and dialled, she had service, remarkbly. Derek stared down the hall they were in in the opposite direction where they had come from. Through the fog and dusty orange light he made out a faint glow nearly two hundred yards down, as he focused on it, he saw it blink, again, and again, he started to make out more and more detail until...He couldn't believe it.
Derek literally jumped for joy, it was a beacon, a beacon warning that power was turned on! The control room was just two hundred yards away! He heard Brooke explaining everything to Zack, he could even here Zack's voice on the other side, though he couldn't make out what he was saying. Brooke closed her phone after saying goodbye and turned to Derek. "Zack said he was going to get Micheal and come down here to give us a hand with whatever the hell these things are. He said that he was going to grab Kogie too." She spoke softly, hope returning to her voice slowly. "Good, Kogie will be a big help if we come across those things again."
Kogie was one of their friends, an exchange student from Asia, Kogie practiced a lot of kendo and martial arts, they all say what Kogie was capable of and they all knew Kogie wouldn't be afraid to use what he could do. "What all did you tell Zack?" Derek asked, "I told him we were at the Stellyard in the second building somewhere, that we were deep inside the building and we were being attacked by some sort of creatures. He said he'd be here as soon as possible." She spoke softly. "Zack can't drive." Derek replied turning to her, "Neither can Micheal or Kogie, how do they plan on getting here?" He continued. The spark of hope in Brooke'seyes faded slightly, "I don't know..." Derek bit his lip and walked back over to Brooke, settign the bar aside he wrapped his arms around her again stroking her hair as she buried her face in his chest.
The air seemed to grow thin, Derek found his breaths hard to draw in, his lungs felt small, and his heart pounded, he looked down as Brooke looked up, her eyes glazed in tears and something Derek couldn't put his finger on. Derek blinked, and when he closed his eyes for that small instant, his mind burst into a plethera of pleasure and surprise. He could feel the soft flesh against his, moist, salty, but at the same time, the single sweetest thing he ever tasted, Brooke's lips.
