Santa Lost His Way
I had written my letter to Santa Clause, Had addressed and stamped it with care I thought my list was a little too long But I was always willing to share. My simple request was a ring of gold, And a tiara to place on my hair A full-length coat of fur I sought The colour I did not care. A Mercedes Benz I wrote at last Or a Cad if the Merc was not there I asked for diamond earrings too And an extra set for a spare. But on Christmas morning, my tree was bare No presents arrived that day, I am very shocked and can only assume That Santa lost his way. 16 lines written 12/15/09
