The next day, Fay decided she had better call Jack. She hadn't done that yet and she had promised too.

"It's ok Fay. I've been keeping my focus on the road." Jack told her after she apologized for not calling.

"On the road?" Fay asked slightly alarmed. "Where are you going?"

"Following Reinstein. The news bulletin about you guys came out, that same day Reinstein had cancelled all his classes for the next two weeks, then drove out. I'm assuming someone called."

"We think the guy at the hotel desk must've called." Fay answered.

"Well, as long as you guys have moved since then, you might still have a shot." Jack said urgently. "Then again maybe not, he hasn't stopped since he left except twice for a bathroom. It's possible we're past the hotel you guys were at last."

"Oh boy." Fay said frustrated.

"What's going on Fay?" Matt asked from the front seat.

"Reinstein left yesterday after the news bulletin canceling his classes for the next two weeks." Fay answered.

"That can't be good for us." Matt said.

"I know." Fay said. Then she went back to the phone.

"Fay, where are you?" Jack asked.

"Uh." Fay said as she looked out the window. She quickly saw a sign. "Interstate 39. We've been in Wisconsin for a while."

"What?!! I just passed a sign that said interstate 39 and I'm in Wisconsin!"

Fay jerked her head around and sure enough she could tell that about three cars behind them was Jack and two cars behind them was Professor Reinstein.

"Jack. I need to get off the phone and let Kelsey and Matt know." Fay said.

"Take care of yourself I'm praying for you."

"Thank you." Fay said.

"What do you need to tell us Fay?" Kelsey asked.

"That Professor Reinstein is two cars behind us!" Fay yelled.

"Kelsey, just keep driving." Matt instructed as calmly as he possibly could. "Get off at the next exit. Hopefully he won't catch that we got off and he'll just keep going."

Kelsey nodded. "Alright Matt." That's exactly what they did.
