It's always easier to pass judgement in hindsight.

The Monday morning quarterback
Makes all the right calls.
He always knows what each one must do.
He knows who should have the ball.

His strategies are perfect,
His predictions precise
He knows each player’s weaknesses
He gives impeccable advice.

He knows when to zig left
Or zag to the right.
H e knows when to keep his cool
And when to react with a hard fight.

He’s an expert on offense
He knows the coaches role
He knows when we should have gone for it
Or kicked a field goal

He knows when the foot was out of bounds
Or clearly on the line
If we’d only listen to his sage advice
Our team would have done just fine.

While some have doubts and question
The Monday wonder man knows everything.
He could have told us had we asked
Not to send in the second string.

In fact, his only minor failing,
Uncertain, he’ll sputter and stall,
Is to make a call on Sunday.
He’s no good at that at all.
