When the stars blink through the veil of raindrops,
When the nightowl lets out its searching call, When the tender buds receive the blessings of heaven in the silvery wetness of the moonlit rain, I pray, God, may this night never end, I do not care what the daylight brings for my life is here in the eternity of the night, Where the softened blades of grass tickle my wet feet, whispering their love as I trample them underneath. Give me my night, O Lord, Where I can enjoy the enlightenment that darkness brings away from the glaring eyes of the Sun. Where my soul may drink from the chalice of the heavens, While the moonlit rain may rinse away, the cruel deeds I do by day.
