New Prompt: Write a story or poem involving dizzy spells, a hippopotamus, the new year, and a recipe. Please bold key words for the next judge to find them easily. MY STRANGE NEW YEAR'S COMPANION! I was making resolutions; thought I smelled something strange-- it was new years at my house; I was looking for a change! I looked inside my clean kitchen, just looking for what smelled-- found a huge hippopotamus; wearing a tiny bell! "Now, hippos don't wear bells," I thought! "I ought to call the ZOO!" I saw that he was cooking, then-- did not know what to do!! He'd found my stash of recipes; he'd burned 'most ev'rything. The stench gave me a dizzy spell-- my eyes began to sting! He wanted me to take a bite-- I said "no thank you! GO! And when last I had a glimpse he was out in the cold! That was a crazy new year's! More than I could endure!! The next time that I smell odd food, I'll CALL THE ZOO, for sure!
