BRING ON THE NEW YEAR
Lord, we have sinned against you; You gave what we deserved. In the year that goes today, The days have been disturbed. There have been shootings in schools, Young children massacred. Human bombs have exploded And lives have been shattered. Marines marched in Iraq sands And walked in Afghan snow. More and more in world today, The winds of terror blow. Those who ought to know better Acted without forethought. In the name of peace, they have War and destruction brought. Bring on the New Year, O Lord, Different from the past. Calm the world and bring in peace Forever that may last. * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format * Written for the “COLORING THE WORLD CONTEST” contest, "COLORING THE WORLD CONTEST " M C Gupta 31 December 2009
