NEW PROMPT: Studies have shown that most New Year's Resolutions (for example, "I will enter The Writer's Cramp every day") get lost, broken or abandoned by somewhere around mid-February. Write a story or poem about a Resolution that gets broken on New Year's Day. BROKEN BEFORE ITS INK HAD DRIED! Had resolved not to cuss this year-- by damn, I really tried! Made a resolution, which I broke before my ink dried! Was holding hot drink in my bed-- a slow new year's morning. Before I knew it, I'd dropped it; HOT FLOOD without warning! Really bad words poured from my face- could not cork the bad sounds! I know my speech was a disgrace as paper towels I found. I broke that good resolution before its ink had dried-- next time my coffee's by the bed, I'll store it AT MY SIDE.
