A poem about a dream I have

I wish I could travel backward through time
To see old events with my own two eyes
To meet with the people I wish I had met

I wish that I could explore space
To visit planets so far away
To meet with aliens for a day

But I can't and nor can you
To get our fix we all have to
Read in books and write out stories
