The kiss was like nothing Derek ever felt or tasted before, it was short, but for even as long as it lasted his mind was a flurry of bliss. Her lips parted from his and a scarlet blush flushed across her cheeks, she quickly pressed her cheek to his chest as a blush creeped into his own cheeks. He closed his eyes and thought deeply, he needed to get Brokke and him to the control room, they could find a way out of here if they did. He began to pull away but stopped when Brooke's nails clung to his shirt needingly not wanting to let go. Derek replied to her cling by tightening his arms around her, he understood how she was feeling, they were alone, in this damned place being chased by monsters that as far as they knew, wanted to kill them. She was terrified, hell, so was he, he wasn't even entirely sure that they'd make it out, but he knew he was going to protect Brooke as long as he could.

The air around them seemed to grow thicker then, syrupy, making it hard to breath. Derek opened his eyes and looked to his left and his right without releasing Brooke, that's when he saw it. It was one of the creatures, it had snuk up on them in their moment of weakness, it was close, close enough to reach out and grab Brooke, as a matter of fact, it was trying to do just that. Derek's mind reacted quickly, adreniline coursed through his veins so fast it bruned throughout his entire body, he spun and threw Brooke in the direction of the control room putting you right in the creature's path.

The pain wasn't there to begin with, but it slowly crept into Derek's mind, his spine tingled as he felt whatever was pressing into his back, press deeper. His vision blurred as the tips of his fingers burned like fire, he saw a shape, a figure he could only assume was Brooke fall to the floor, stand and turn back to him. He tried to call out for her to run, but all that spilled from his mouth was blood. The creatures long nails were slowly driving deeper, easily pressing through the muscles and flesh. He couldn't even cry out, just blood, and pain, and the cold feeling creeping up his spine, nasuea, a metallic taste crept into his mouth. He slowly leaned forward, forcing his muscles to work as his hand reached outward gripping the pipe, his fingers were numb, his entire body was numb, but he forced his muscles, to keep Brooke safe, he had to.

His grip on the pipe tightened and he cried out as he twisted his body, the nails in his mid back twisting and tearing through flesh as he turned to half way face the creature and bring the pipe up and bash it into the creature's head. It reeled back and tore it's nails from Derek's back, causing him to drop to his knees as the creature flew backwards into the wall. Derek began to fall forward but was caught by Brooke, she gripped him tightly and lifted him to his feet, struggling with his limp body he wrapped his arm around her shoulders as she stumbled toward the control room, roughly dragging his forward.

The creature behind them writhed in pain, shaking it's bulbous head and dragging its blood covered nails along the piped wall. It looked over at it's escaping prey and opened it's mouth wide, snapping it shut again, it's interlocking jaws like gulloutines. It slowly floated toward them, it's head wavering slightly. Brooke was crying as she dragged Derek's limp body, his vision still blurry and blood still dripped from his mouth and his shirt was soaked in it.

The creature was growing closer, much faster then Brooke could drag Derek's body. She looked back and saw it floating toward them, tears still streaming down her cheeks she cried out in panic. That cry sparked something inside Derek, his body suddenly went stiff, life returned for the moment as he stood, his legs still trembling he turned slowly and brought the pipe upward in a striking position. He knew his body would stay up for long as the creature seemed to flourish with new life itself at the sight of it's prey still able to stand. It shot itself forward, it's nails upward and exposed, ready to strike again and rip his prey apart and take something special.

Derek blinked slowly, pain still flying through his body as he brought the pipe down, his arms on fire as the pipe slammed into the creature's arms, the hands simply bent against it dropping then quickly lifting back up the creatures nails driving into Derek's arms causing him to cry out as he dropped the pipe. Brooke reacted fast, she lept forward and grasped the pipe as it fell, pivoting on her feet she brought the pipe upward slammed it into the bottom of the creature's head sending it upward, the nails tearing from Derek's arms. Brooke gripped Derek and pulled him into a run while his body could still function toward the control room, it was getting closer, so close, as she felt Derek's body beginning to go limp behind her, she needed to hurry, the creature would be coming back, and there was still the question of where the other one was.

Growing closer, and closer, Brooke's mind began to give, and began to set in that she was never going to see daylight again, maybe she was right.
