Twilights Revenge (Chapter 1)
James wakes in an unfamiliar room.
by Nish Laverz

James awoke to the sound of his phone receiving a text message. Looking round he realised he was in his car next to a disused warehouse. He had no idea why he was there or what had happened during the last 24 hours. Picking up his phone he looked at the text that he had just received. It made no sense to him and he had no idea who had sent it. Starting the car he set off with no idea of what he was about to do.

James pulled up in his usual parking space at work, turned off the engine and stepped out in to the dim light of the underground car park. Looking around and seeing the place was as deserted as ever James entered the lift that would take him into the building above. Pressing the button for the ground floor James stepped back and watched the doors close, still totally unaware of his actions.

The doors of the lift opened and James exited turning to head straight for the custody suite. Stopping at the desk he pulled out an official looking letter and spoke to the custody Sergeant. 'I have orders to take this prisoner to Scotland Yard to be handed over to the Terrorist unit.' He said as the Sergeant read thought the letter and took a good look at the photo that was attached.
'He's in Cell 1; I'll get him for you now.'
The Sergeant turned spoke to another officer then the two of them went over to the cells, opened the first cell and walked in. There was a loud scream before a tall man with eyes as green as emeralds walked out and turned towards James. James pulled something out of his pocked and before the man had chance to make another move aimed it at him and he fell to the ground. Moving quickly James dragged the man's limp body towards the exit door and pressed some buttons on the doors keypad opening it. Making sure there was no one in the custody suite car park he dragged the man outside and towards a patrol car. Pulling a set of keys out of his pocket he quickly opened the car, placed the man on the back seat, jumped in the driver’s seat and drove off.

*****

James spun the cars steering wheel into full lock, swinging the car sharply round the corner and through the entrance to the derelict industrial estate, blue lights flashing and siren blazing. Looking in the mirror he saw his passenger was still out of it on the back seat. Pulling up outside the warehouse he got out of the car, moved to the driver’s side back door opening it. Grabbing the man’s still limp body James dragged it out of the car across the broken tarmac to the door that led to his destination. On reaching the door he pressed a button on his keys opening it, revealing the dark dingy interior you would expect of a warehouse that had not been in use for years.

James gave his eyes a few seconds to adjust to the darkness before scanning through it for the door that would lead him to his final destination. Spotting the switch on the wall he placed his hand on the scanning pad activating it, the scrolling light that it emitted did little to light up the darkness. The noise of cogs tuning filled the darkness and the wall in front of James started moving, a small amount of light emitting from the gap, getting bigger and brighter the more the wall opened.
