This poem is a sestina. An explanation of this form can be found here: http://www.uni.edu/~gotera/CraftOfPoetry/sestina.html
In poetry I love to write Down paths of joy I journey Until a curve fades all so dark I rush to find a friend Together we will muse Until once more it is light. A blank page lays lightly Ready for inspired writings To be spread by my muse Carrying me on new journeys Words are once again my friends Fog has lifted shades of dark. Murky gloom of lonely darkness Needs the glow of a thousand lights Which can be found in a face so friendly It must belong to another writer Who travels on this poetic journey Hearing his own sweet muse. Each with a distinct muse 'Tis true, but even if his is darker We are together on this journey Learning to take more lightly This craft of writing Finding readers friendly. Discovering that to share with friends Together we can muse Learning more about our writing Avoiding pages fogged so dark Shedding on our work more light So that this stays a joyful journey. While we become true journeymen And the fastest of friends Filling our pages with enlightenment Visited daily by our muses And rarely by the gloomy darkness That blocks all inspired writing. So do write on this journey Avoiding the darkness by making friends Learning to let your muse visit often to shed light.
