New Year Dreaming

What shall I change in my life this year?
What will be my resolutions?
I need to lose weight, and pay off some bills.
I'm dreaming of finding solutions?

Year after year I make promises,
But talk and its words are so cheap
I find that when New Year’s Eve comes again
I’m making pledges that I won’t keep.

This New Year’s Eve I think I have found
A guaranteed and foolproof plan.
Those old declarations vowed in past years
Will be tossed right in the trash can!

For I have been trying to take on
My burdens and worries alone.
Without Him to guide me, I have been lost.
Now, I've more peace than I’ve ever known.

I’ve renewed my commitment to God.
He’ll steer me each step of the way.
No more empty vows will I have to make
For success is just a prayer away.

When you ask of new resolutions,
With a smile on my face I’ll say
I have no plans, for my life’s in God’s hands
And, I will live for Him every day.
