The Searcher's Song
My poetic response to Harry G's work on the call of the Wolf

The Searcher's Song

Amid the moon's loft
there sings a serenade soft
sadly first amid expectant exclaim
that mankind fell
amongst womankind's spell
still remembered between chasms twain

There that first wolf sang
of a storied song
that escaped a surly, white fang
and aloft it flew and announced
from a far-off Garden it pounced
the danger of Original Sing

From those lips there trembled
from between numerous valley - tumbled
Heaven-wards cast ... it grew
Numerous souls gathered there - re-assembled
Slate gray wraiths dashed & crumpled
As the Alpha was dared by but few

From that Original Sing
there remains a sonorous song
about souls lost across the night skies blue
But alas! recall a miraculous disclaimer
in the form of a wonderful Redeemer
a Good Shepherd watches the flock ... and over you

- For my newfound friend Harry G, in response to an excellent poem!
