ON THE BIRTH OF A GRANDSON
O my friend I have just learnt, By one generation, You have become older now. Oh, what veneration! You are a grandfather now; You span old and the new. I am sure more rewarding Pleasures could but be few. Your grandfather raised you so That one day you too might Pass on into the future Values of wrong and right. As you proceed to discharge That duty further on, I do send my best wishes And welcome your grandson. Your gray hair you may now stroke In your new employment. I participate in your Family enjoyment. * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format M C Gupta 23 January 2010
