LOVE IS LIKE CANDY

They say that love is like candy and that makes me wonder
just how that could be, seeming to be quite a stretch to say.
Yet thinking back on the words, they will somehow ring true.
Some days are filled with love,and some days just slip away.

The craving for chocolate, the sweet chocolate we can savor,
lifts us up and out of the doldrums of the life that we endure.
The craving for love takes on a similar sensation within us,
both are needed in our lives, when the love is true and pure.

Too much candy devoured will bring an uncomfortable feeling
and too much love on our part without any true love in return
will bring that uncomfortable feeling of pain and of heartache,
even though for both the candy and love we always will yearn.

Oh, you can bring on the chocolate, bring on the true love!
I hunger for the sweetness that candy and true love can bring.
No need for abstaining from the delicate bits of our desires,
both the candy and the love will cause any heart to sing!
