Arizona Jean
Pointed joints and folly taunts And jibes, they haunt me not; Nor clever jokes and tender pokes Of who should and had not ought. Not sullen stares nor amused grins Cast in knowing intimations Can still my yet persistent thoughts And unsolved meditations. Laughs and leers and months and years Of wisdom-driven second-guess Can't tear this mask of wonder if You asked, would I still say yes.
