MY UNEXPECTED EXTRA GUESTS!

I planned a birthday party
to celebrate MY way
'cause everybody knows it--
my day's a HOLIDAY.

My guest list was in order;
even included cats.
They would have felt so left out--
we couldn't have had that!!

Some enterprising small pet
decided to be cute;
invited 8 brown squirrels;
who brought me LOTS of loot!

They came and rang my door-bell
just wanting to get in!!
But like all squirrels, they SMELLED;
the fun could not begin.

I threw them in the bathtub,
and they were horrified.
The cats, they started to scrub
the squirrels; made them cry!

My party had a slow start;
my guests were clean and mad.
But once we started eating,
a super time we had!
