Just Like A Mom
Dedicated To Donna Maynard

Just like a mom
You hold my hand and listen to my fears
Without judgment you embrace me gently
With a smile you wipe away my tears
You never tried to take her place
You let me accept you at my own pace
I feel closer to you than I ever had hoped for
You love my father that’s plain to see
I’m happier than I could ever be
We’ve laughed together
We’ve built sweet memories
You are so much like a mom
The mom I’ve needed for oh so long
I find myself striving to make you proud
I love you and I wanted to share it out loud
Just like a mom, I hope you’ll always be.
