Forest Lost
Rated: E | Poetry | Environment | #1642742
A poem about the forest
Forest Lost

At the forest edge
The immoral straight line
Dusk has fallen
Forever on the trees

They're sterile now
Left in perverse shapes
Marring their beauty
Their immortality lost

Overused and undervalued
The trees weep
To the music of industry
And sudden death

The moon rises
A beautiful nightscape
Illuminating a secret beauty
Mocking the once wild trees

What was once green and strong
Now dead and gone
Killed for the greater good
The new age of pollution
