This story just came to me yesterday. I have an idea of where it's going and no plan. I don't even know If I'll work on it again. It might end up just setting in my stories folder like so many other stories.

It was in the cold of December. The snow blanketed the ground.

"No, no no no!" James yelled as he pulled the paper out of the type writer balled it up and threw it in the overflowing waste basket. He place another peace of paper in the type witter placed his hands on the keys and typed:

It was in the humid month of September. The rain fell in sheets

"No!" James yelled as he ripped the paper out of the typewriter and threw it in the waste basket. He placed his hands on his for head. Fuck! he thought. He looked at a stature of Calliope in a book shelf. "Where are you. I need you." He then laughed and though: I must be going mad. I'm talking to statues.

An old woman waring a ratted old hooded cloak, her face hidden by the hood knocked on the door of James' apartment.
James opened the door. "Um. Can I help you?"
The old woman with shaking hand took an wooden box. "Take it." she said, "It is yours."
"I didn't loose a box."
"It is yours, the gods deem it. Take it!"
"Okay." James said slowly and took the box.
"What ever you do, do not open the box. Hope lies within it." The old woman turned and walked away.
That was weird. James thought as the old woman walked away.
James shut the door then walked over to the desk, he place the box on the desk examined it.
The box had old ancient Greek writing on it, on the front of the box a latch.
He went to unlatch the box but stopped, he remembered the word of the old woman. "What ever you do, do not open the box. Hope lies within it." He sat there and looked at the box. A bomb! He thought. But who would bomb me? I have no enemy's and I barely have any friends. And it's an expensive box. Who would use an expensive box to bomb some one?
As James continued to stare at the box the phone rang. He looked over at his jacket thrown on the couch with the cell phone still in the pocket. James got up, walked over to the couch, took the ringing phone from his pocket and answered it.
