“Be my Valentine”
“Be my Valentine,” said the sweet sixteen My heart missed a beat, I was just eighteen. Her blond curls, sweet smile, and pure innocence Had me in thrall through the night, forever since. The moon was high coloring the world in silver Lost to the world, lost in each other we were. We danced away the night till the stars faded My eyes on her face, her beauty they raided. Her words were like a melody unheard before Dulcet drops made me long for more and more. I was her Valentine for many years hence Till the day I proposed to her with no pretence. Oft we recall that fresh fragrant evening of love When Cupid aimed his arrows at us from above.
