Policies, Promises, and Nonsense
A poem about President Obama's economic and domestic policies.

This item requires reviews with ratings.
The policies and promises of this presidency
Revolve around ideas of lunacy –
Spending for jobs creation such that debt
Can exacerbate the lives of those we beget…

Through the outrageous spending that’s being slated,
No helpful employment will be created,
And they mustn’t raise taxes to pay for the cost
Of those public works projects, while paychecks are lost!

Yet, we idealize this administration,
To bring about change for a proud generation,
Looking for economic prosperity and scope
To loosen this recession’s grip and cope…

But every word and expression is wrong
By a politician we liken as strong;
This world leader is promising peace
As economic woes worsen, not cease.

The challenge of this president to countermand
The loss of a majority is to toughen his stand,
Repeating the positions that no one agrees
Will help put this struggling nation at ease.

The truth be known, no task could be greater,
But this president’s role as a policy debater
Could have anyone baffled or scratching his head,
Despite the hope with which he has led!
