Vacant Lot
filled with life's throw-aways

A solitary man paces the sidewalk by an inner-city junk filled lot.

Joined by police and an ambulance they lift the body of a youth.

The blue coloured face, mud covered on one side, looks like its still in pain.

Uniforms and suits talk and point here and there and back again, and then leave.

No mention made of the tragic death on TV or in newspapers.

It’s an agreement they have, not to advertise the death of homeless youth.

To the delicate, it is offensive to keep a body count on street people.
