RED: The Contradiction Red signals love, red demonstrates hate Two meanings, one color, one voice Passions are stirred, fury burns under weight All decided by the spectrum’s lone choice The beating heart is a crimson hue Fitting by its depth of emotion A powerful force unlimited to Love’s one source of the truest devotion A victim’s rage, a lover’s desire Red is at the center of it all A burning lust, ever fanning the fire The answer to, the waiting siren’s call It strikes one with, merciless power It shines in the blood of the weak It explodes each morn, in that finest hour And sets each night with the sun in defeat Red you see, is a contradiction Not easily, nor hardly defined Endless in scope, with no true depiction Unbridled, uncouth, and so unrefined
