LIKE GRASS PUSHING THROUGH CRACKS
Grass pushing through cracks. Old building gives way to age; soon my memory. Soon my memory. Life changes like that old house-- permanence is gone. Permanence is gone: I’ve forgotten who I was; what I used to love. What I used to love, what I’ve stood for all these years: simple happiness. Simple happiness. Real life makes that seem futile– like grass pushing through. Like grass pushing through foundations I once thought strong; how misled I’ve been! How misled I’ve been. To yield to unnoticed cracks while pretending strength. While pretending strength: wonder what else has slipped like grass pushing through cracks.
