The Siren's Call
A poem of love lost pure

Upon the sea, a wayward night A salty wind blows ever free My ship holds true, my course just right My thoughts drift away suddenly I see her face, I hear her voice Like the wind her soul surrounds me Her time was too short, the Lord's choice My heart it reaps her love's bounty From deep in the night, comes a song Whispered on the lips of the wind Of love lost pure and ever strong With boundaries that have no end A siren's call, a maiden's love Her epic words bring forth a tear I look to the clouds, high above My voyage, it now seems so clear From the edge I leap, to the sea It's cold, wet strength overpowers The mermaids touch grasps forcefully As I sink, my love it flowers Oh how I desperately wait With the hope of our reunion Finally joined, as was our fate I beg to God for communion
