Freedom Lost By Indelibleink I suppose you could say, that I got what I deserved, Or you might even say, that justice had been served. But I'm here to tell you stuff that might just make you shiver, 'Cause they made a major mistake in sending Willy up the river. Now, me and my peeps, we were out cruising one night, Minding our own business, we pulled up to a light. Some homies in an Escalade - boys clearly up to no good, Said that we were on their turf, and not to associate in their 'hood. Now, we didn't want no trouble; in fact we didn't make a sound, The driver turned around the Caddy, and we was quickly Homeward Bound. Thought that we were done, and that there'd be no more conversatin', When one guy looked at me and said, "Hey! That's who my wife is datin'!" Well, before you even knew it, there was trouble in the air, There was guns and tire irons, and a few knives - just to make it fair. It did get pretty vicious, I won't even try to downplay the events that night, But, I even offered to pay for the surgery, to get that guy's ear back on "just right." You can guess where this is going; yep - the judge had it in for me, He wouldn't even listen to my defense, that there's a reason we're all Born Free. Nope - all it took was a few words from my mouth, and for His Honor that was plenty. He smacked his gavel on the bench, and said, "Will...now, you'll serve ten-to-twenty." But I stood right up, faced the judge, and I know it must sound silly, I said, "You'll regret that you had the chance, but you chose to not Free Willy." Because if those boys ever find out where I am, they're sure to seek revenge, And they'll carve me up and leave me for dead, and upon your conscience this shall hinge." Now every time when I'm up for parole, and stand in front of the board - with pride, Someone says, "Never Cry Wolf in the judge's court; parole is therefore denied!
