1) The only true goal of writing is to set heads on fire.
Surrounded by a world of sleepwalkers,
Writing is me, screaming.
2) Discipline the body. Anarchy the mind.
Exercise and eat well.
Make maps of your dreams and then go be a pirate.
3) Writing should do what the other arts can not.
Verisimilitude is best achieved by photo and video.
Word play and pun are unique to writing.
4) Get people asking questions--any questions.
Learning is a virtue.
Contentment--ignorance--is worse than murder.
Nothing disgusts me more than someone who thinks they have all the answers.
