A man finds something interesting in his mailbox. On February 14th, Valentine's Day, Chuck went to his mail box and found a few letters and a small package wrapped in pale blue and white glossy paper with a kiss and a heart image on it. He took it to his apartment and opened it. Wham, a spring loaded array of gifts shot out. There were little candy hearts with short sentences on them as: "I'm yours," "My heart is for you," "You are a love," "Forever yours," but there were also two tickets to the Romeo and Juliet play running at a theater near by, a glamour photograph of the sender, a lovely woman, and a romantic poem. My heart beats for you alone, It wants you to phone. Give me a call Chuck, Turn my loneliness into luck. I'm awaiting your love, As a patient and humble dove. Chuck dashed to the phone and called Jeannie, the sender andsubject of the glamour photograph. "Hi Jeannie." Hi lover, missed you honey. Come over, ok?" "Jeannie, we haven't even gone out for a month?" "A month? It feels like a year! What about taking me to the Shakespearian play?" asked Jeannie. "I'll be there Saturday night at five, ok?" "I'll be waiting." Chuck hung up and wondered why Jeannie turned her affections on to him all of a sudden. He decided to call his friend Betty and inquire about Jeannie's manner. Betty shed some light on Jeannie's romantic actions." Her brother told me their dad brought up her graduating from Franklyn High next term and asked why she was staying home all the time. Their dad told her to date more," said Betty. Chuck finished the conversation and went to the kitchen to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was so yummy and lip-smacking that he drooled on his chin, and he displayed a big grin on his face. After he wolfed down the sandwich and downed a glass of ice cold milk all at once, Chuck considered Jeannie's call and their upcoming date. He wondered; am I being used? Am I her last hope? Is she acting only because of her dad or is her heart into their relationship a somewhat? On Saturday night, the two high school students went to dinner before seeing Romeo and Juliet. Their conversation revealed the two truly did care for each other and that Jennie stayed in her room a lot, as he was anxious about leaving high school next term. While they were chatting, another student, a guy Jennie dated a few times named Billy, approached their table and initiated an argument with Chuck. Their competition like contest for Jeannie's approval rose to an uncomfortable loudness. Billy, partially inebriated, grabbed Chuck's arm, and Jeannie let out a roar warning Billy to let Chuck alone. Chuck shot up, pulled away from Billy, and challenged him to go out side to settle Billy's problem. Before Billy followed, he reached over where Jennie was sitting and poured salt into her coffee. Jeannie threw the coffee all over Billy's sweater, as Chuck turned and saw Billy cry and run out of the restaurant. The remainder of the evening was a miraculously romantic time with Jeannie and Chuck becoming more and more interested in the love between them. Eventually the two married and Jeannie moved in with Chuck. Word Ct: 554
