STAIRWAY TO HELL

I started one night down the stairway to Hell
then turned back to the light that called me.
Why would I want to continue to the unknown,
to the darkness when I could forever be free?

The sounds from below stopped me once more,
the visions of pleasure and beauty were shown.
Satan was luring me with music ever so sweet,
inviting me to a world that I had never known.

Passion and promises awaited far down below
and temptation was building there on the stairs.
It would be so easy to take the first step down,
I would forget about the light and saying prayers.

I took one last look at the light at the top step
and heard Jesus say "Child, Take my hand...
There is no truth in what Satan is showing you.
Choose LIFE now, You must try to understand!"

I looked into the eyes of my precious savior,
knowing He would save me from the fate
of being lost forever in the darkness below
and guide me home before it was too late.

His hand clasped mine, leading me away
from the darkness as Satan stood screaming.
The stairway to Hell disappeared from view,
I realized that I must have been dreaming.

And yet, on my pillow, a white rose lay
and a feeling of peace entered my heart.
I have no fear of what lies ahead for me,
from His word and faith I will never depart.
