Balloons of a Different Color

Float! Float! Float!
Up!
Higher and higher they glide
all the way across the sky
Soaring higher and higher
into the sky

Their names are such as
a dream, hope, and wish
A happy little tune that
is played inside one's head
when you are down...

Pop! Pop! Pop!
Down!
Downward they plummet
to the Earth
Slightly dampening one's spirit
to see the gracefullness disrupted
and the happy tune suddenly corrupted
for reality caught the wind
It pierced them so
and now you know
it's gone forever...again.
