19 Oct 93 REM Tonight Pillows in my face and My thoughts splay before me With no one beside me - Yeah, maybe that's why. I'm trying not to harangue These crisscrossing sections Of long-dead reflections - Just let 'em go by. Pulses in my head and My sure hands are aching With long breaths painstaking, My eyes open wide. I'm trying to outcount the Clock but it's tireless; No, can't drift to dreamless - I've already tried. Thought maybe you needed a sounding board, Love-touched, rubbed much, and felt adored - I'll send you to sleep, and at the worst You'll have to stop by heaven first.
