When I was just three,
I knew bird and flower names, But got one mixed up-- Mom said "Orioles," I, of course, heard "Oreos"-- Winged cookie birds? I would run outside, Attempt to catch a cookie, Flying through the air. Time and time again, I'd think that I had missed it-- So, I'd try again. In my preschool mind, This concept made perfect sense-- Some birds? Edible. Chicken and turkey Were both served as main courses, Why no "dessert" bird? But, when I was four-- Solved the puzzle when I learned Pronunciation.
