BALLOONS AND MOMENTS: a sonnet
The days and events are like gas balloons That go up once never to return back; Some are violent, tsunami typhoons, Some are like light slippery moments slack. While once we release the balloons in sky, We let them go off without further thought. Why don’t the same principle we apply And let past moments hinder future not? It’s better to let bygones be bygones And not ponder too much on moments past. Remember that no one in the world moans For those who can’t their mental burden cast. My friend, do not hold on to old moments. Freedom in life such a gesture prevents. * Written for “Words In Motion Poetry Contest”, "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 26 February 2010
