Danielle Davidson, an ordinary girl, who lived in a small town, was actually more than ordinary. she lived with three other siblings, all boys, she was the oldest, but the didn't stop her brothers from trying to do whatever they wanted, so, Danielle could usually be found outside, swinging at the playground. Danielle was 14 years-old, and had an extreme fear of pitch dark places. Reason being, she was a campout with her Girl Scout Troop when she was younger, and several of the girls had dared her to go into a dark cave, and a lot of bats flew on top of her, freaking her out, and now she has a fear of pitch black places, afraid that something similiar might happen. Which is why she won't go into the basement.
Danielle was in the middle of making dinner, since both parents worked late, she had to do it, which proved challenging, because her brothers always wanted it a certain way. Of course they only said that to bug her, she figured this out, because one evening when they were overdoing it, Danielle just made it the normal way, and they ate it anyway. Eversince, Danielle just made what ever it was the normal way. After dinner, the boys would watch TV, and Danielle would retreat to her room, to do homework, chat, text, whatever, something to occupy herself until she had to put the boys to bed. While Danielle was doing homework, she noticed that her silver, and blue necklace was glowing. She picked it up, and held it in her hands, it had never done it that before. Suddenly, it flashed, temporarily blinding her. What she didn't know, was that she was more than the teenager with the usual problems that come with being one. She had no idea that she was destined to save the world, and she didn't know that someone was out to get her. Danielle placed the necklace back on the chest of drawers, it finally faded. She got ready for bed, and was soon fast asleep. However, the sky, while night, was quickly becoming darker, until, when the sun rose, there was no difference between night, and day. When Danielle woke up the next morning, she was suprised that the sky was still dark. She looked to her alarm clock, it said 9:00 AM. She jumped out of bed, got dressed, ran downstairs, and out the door, the sky covered was covered with clouds. Danielle gasped, her worst fear had been realized, darkness covered the earth. She had no idea, that her Uncle James was behind everything that was going to happen. She ran back inside, and up the stairs. She grabbed the necklace off the drawers. she quickly placed it around her neck. She ran back outside, when she heard evil laughter, she turned around to face the source, she expected maybe an evil scientist, madman, anything but her Uncle James? No, no, no. "Uncle?" she said. "Danielle, nice to see you." he replied. "Do I want to say the same?" Danielle asked, but she didn't, even though she didn't know he was planning to murder her. "You might," he said, stepping towards her, Danielle stepped backwards. "I won't," she replied. "You should," he stepped forward. Danielle turned, and ran, unaware that a trans-dimentional hole waited for her down the road, and not just the physical road either. She ran, her heart quickening pace, the darkness growing more dense by the second. "You will hand the necklace over!" her Uncle shouted as she ran. "Never!" she shouted, then she fell into the hole, screaming the way into the next dimention, not expecting the puddle of mud, or the dark forest, or the darkness across the sky. at the end of the journey. Sure enough, when she landed, she was covered with mud. She stood up, and attempted to clean herself off, obviously not working. She looked around, there seemed to be creatures staring at her from all directions. She ran as fast as she could, her heart racing, she tripped over a tree root, landing face first into the ground, causing blood to spill from her face. She sat up, and attempted to wipe the blood from her face, smearing it. She had no idea that her uncle was following trying to break her, to get the necklace. She stood up, and brushed herself off, as best she could. She began walking, shivering as she did so, because she had no coat. she looked around, the darkness, it was covering the entire woods. it was getting darker with every passing second. Danielle tripped, landing in her uncle's hold. "Let go of me Uncle James!" She shrieked. "Why should I?" he replied, "you having something I want." "You're not going to get it!" Danielle was struggling to get out his grasp, he held her tighter as she attempted to free herself. "You're not going to escape me," he bound her hands before leading her to an abandoned building. He forced her into a chair before tying her to it. she didn't know that he was planning to use her to channel the energy from his machine. "Uncle," Danielle said, "I can't believe you." "Oh?" he said, turning around to face her. "Why do you want to take over the world?" "Because, Danielle, Power! the most awesome thing In the universe!" "That's it?" "And the world will be under my control!" Danielle looked at him like he was dilusional, and he was. Danielle stared at the machine, she had to get free, she had to, but how? He walked over, and untied her. leading her. Danielle took the chance, and broke free, running the other direction. She ran out of the building, and through the woods, stoppong by a tree to catch her breath, but she had no idea that her uncle was following her. She started running again, hoping to get out of the woods, and maybe back to her home. she kept running, and tripped again, unaware that her uncle had spotted her, and was gaining on her. "Danielle you can't hide from me!" Danielle got up, and ran faster, intent on getting away from him, But the darkness grew darker, and the fog thicker, making it harder to see infront her. But she kept running, unaware of the cliff that was quickly coming up. Sure enough, she lost her footing, and fell over the edge, grasping on a tree root that was sticking out. Her Uncle leaned over, with a evil smile on his face. "Take my hand Danielle," he said. "You're just going to tie me up again," she hissed, "I would rather fall." "Do it then," he replied, "What am I?" Danielle said, "Stupid? Yes, maybe." She let the branch go, and fell, hitting the ground, knocking herself out. She didn't know that her uncle had planned on her doing what she did. He had carefully picked his way through the brush to make it down down to where she lay, and when he found her, he carefully scooped her up, and carried back to his hangout. He placed her in a glass cylinder, walked away, and started fiddling with the machine. When Danielle woke up, and found that she was inside the glass container, she immediately slammed the side in vain, for the glass refused to give. She at her uncle. "Y'know, if you really did care about my well being, you would worried if I had a concussion." "Oh? I do care about you." "I'd love to believe that." To prove his point, James took her out of the cylinder, sat her on a chair, and bandaged her wounds. "I still don't think you care," Danielle said. "You may be right child," James replied, "but you're not going to die unless I say so." "Aw geez," Danielle sighed, "you're a twisted person you know that?" James ignored her, and walked her back over to the glass chamber. "Everybody's insane Danielle," he replied, "Everyone of us." "Yeah, sure," Danielle replied, "I believe that, yeah sure." James ignored her, and walked back over to the control, and began fiddling with it again. The machine sprang to life as he did so, He started laughing like a maniac. "The world! The world Danielle!" He exclaimed, "It will be mine!" However, Unnoticed by either of them, Danielle's necklace started glowing, getting brghter every passing second. Suddenly the machine died, "Now Uncle James, I think you were going to take over the world, but, no, I think not, I think jail, no the asylum is where you belong, for, YOU ARE INSANE SIR!" Danielle said. "Insane Danielle? You call me insane?" James replied, "Of course one who conquers the world is liable to be called that." "Uh-huh, right, sure, of course," Danielle replied. "Stop the sarcasm child!" James exclaimed, "You will die tonight!" "I-eesh, you're heartless." James fired the machine up again, Danielle screamed, but, James didn't care, he only wanted the power of her necklace to power his machine, and to use it for himself, but Suddenly the glass cylinder shattered, the machine died, and Danielle started walking forward, soon she was only inches away from James's face. The necklace dimmed. "Uncle James, you really are insane," "You don't get it do you child?" "What do you mean?" "I created this world, to my advanage, I knew about the power of your necklace, I knew child, that you'd try to fight me, so I created this world, I can't lose, I know you still fear the darkness, child, give up now, I'll kill you quick, and painlessly." "Yeah, no, Uncle James, I am going to save the world, and frankly, there's a reason why the world has several govermants, and not one, Uncle James you would fail," "Oh no, child, I wouldn't," James snapped his fingers, everything went dark, nobody could see a thing. Danielle whipped her head around, she couldn't see anything, except for the movement of her hands. Suddenly James reached out, and wrapped his arms around her, she screamed. "Now child, do as I say, I might just reconsider killing you." "No!" Danielle attempted to wriggle free, James held on to her tighter, but Danielle got free, she jumped away, slamming straight into a tree, but she couldn't see, so how was she suppose to know? she yelped in pain. James lunged forward, and pinned her against the tree. "Danielle, give up, you won't win." "That's the first time you called me by my name," Danielle replied, with all her strengthe, Danielle threw James off herself, he landed on his back on the ground, just he hit the ground, Danielle's necklace started to glow again, and now she could see. They were back on her street, it was only moments since she ran, and fell into the alternate dimention. "Danielle, don't you see?" James said, "I've already won, you can't possibly destroy me!" he grabbed her necklace, and ripped it from her neck. "Maybe I can't, but the necklace can," Danielle replied, "Uncle James, I'm the only one who can handle the power of that crystal, it will destroy you, now please, before it does, give it back to me, and you'll live." She held out her hand as she sald this. "Never Danielle, the power on this crystal shall be mine!" Suddenly the necklace errupted onto light, a tran-dimentional hole formed behind James, and pulled him in. Then. As if it never happened, the battleground return to its original state, Danielle walked forward, and picked up her necklace, her Uncle 'died', and it looked like the day never happened, in fact checking her watch, not a moment had passed, Danielle walked up the steps to her home, and inside, eveything was as it should be, she walked up to her room, it was as she left it. She shut the door, and laid on her bed, and fell asleep.
